Our firm, Chan, Wong & Lam, was founded in 1991 around the nucleus of experienced senior legal practitioners. In recognition, the founding partners gave their names to the firm.
Since establishment, the firm has a diverse regard to practice in the domestic and commercial sectors advising a wide variety of individual and corporate clients. We provide a comprehensive range of legal services in areas including Property and Conveyancing, Company and Commercial, Civil and Criminal Litigation, Immigration, Wills and Probate and Intellectual Property.

The principle partner and a founder of the firm, Edward is a veteran advocate. He is specialized in litigation and versed in complex and unusual cases. The reasonableness of fees and expenses is a paramount consideration. For a non-contentious conveyancing matter, be assured that our Costs will be offered at a very reasonable level given the extent and quality of legal services rendered. The likely region of Costs would be in the order of HK$5,000 to HK$10,000 in the case of a sale. In the case of a purchase the likelihood of Costs would be in the region of HK$10,000 to HK$20,000. The Costs sought would be dependant on the complexity and dollar value of the particular transaction. Costs are of course exclusive of variables such as disbursements and expenses and matters as per the attached Schedule.
We hope that we could give you the confidence to trust your matters to us with the assurance that Costs charged at the lower end of the range would not result in a compromise in the quality of our professional services that is expected from Chan, Wong & Lam and which beckons old clients to return again and again.
At the time when we take your precise instructions in regard to a particular property. We will be able to give an indication on costs and disbursements.
Further we are able to offer to selected clients access to our professional services on an annual retainer basis.
The Scheme broadly comprises the retention of our firm by the selected client on an annual basis to be entrusted with the client’s legal workload for the entire year. The annual retainer fee would be in the range of HK$10,000 to HK$20,000 dependant on the anticipated workload. The selected annual retainer client privileges would include:
Lower legal Costs for our selected clients
Consistency in legal services supplied
Efficient maintenance of client portfolio
A closer personal relationship and understanding
Perusal of papers
Attendance to telephone discussions
Preliminary advice
Correspondence leading up to commencement of action
Priority attention from our senior staff
Urgent and emergency legal assistance would be provided to the family, friends or associates of the selected client with a waiver of the requirement of Costs on accounts.
In recognition of the privilege of the selected client their names would be added to the membership plaque mounted at the entrance to the practice.
The annual retainer scheme is intended to provide privilege services to our loyal clients. Once our relationship is established we are sure you will prefer to stay with us.
We are positive that you will be completely satisfied with our performance to such an extent you would be inclined to refer the firm of Chan, Wong & Lam to your associates that they may also benefit from the quality of services our firm provides. There is no need to hesitate to pass on our particulars to any of your associates who may be in need.
